Seventeen-year-old Jonathan Lyman was last seen shortly after midnight on July 5, 2025, in Defuniak Springs, Florida, while visiting family from South Florida. He was reported wearing a t-shirt and shorts and was seen in the area of County Highway 181 West. Jonathan is 5 feet 7 inches, about 147 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities say he took a golf cart from his grandparents’ home; the cart was later found abandoned by a passerby on Finill Road near Gio Hagen Road in Covington County, Alabama. Investigators believe he may be traveling on foot in Covington County but do not know which direction he was heading or what he was wearing later that night. Searches have included drones, K9 units, and helicopters.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Jonathan’s parents are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office at 892-8111 or call 911. Did anyone in the Defuniak Springs or southern Alabama area see Jonathan or the golf cart that night?
