Brian Remy was 66 when he was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Warren, Rhode Island. A lifelong resident and a volunteer with the Warren Fire Department since 1973, Remy had risen to assistant chief and was widely known in the community he served for nearly five decades.
The shooting occurred at the Italo/American Club in Warren after an argument between Remy and the club’s president, Michael Ouellette. Ouellette was later found dead of a self-inflicted wound, leaving no arrest in connection with Remy’s killing.
What details about that night might help explain how an argument escalated to lethal violence?
