On the evening of April 27, 2008, sixteen-year-old Edelmiro Roman, known as Musu, was shot multiple times in the back by a large-caliber weapon while walking home from his girlfriend’s house on Dexter Street near Darling Street in Central Falls, Rhode Island. He was found lying in the street and did not survive.

Those who knew Edelmiro described him as having a big heart and not being involved in illicit activities. Investigators at the time considered mistaken identity or possible retaliation tied to recent local violence as motives, with the idea that he may have been misidentified as a gang member. No arrests have been made and no suspects publicly identified; the case remains unsolved and investigators say witness cooperation has been limited.

If anyone knew Edelmiro, saw him that night, or has information that could help move this investigation forward, please come forward.
