On a cold December morning in 1988, the body of 22-year-old Hispanic/Latino male Jose Charlie Mojica was found discarded on Branch Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The body was discovered December 28 in a desolate area near the Attleboro border, a spot used more by passing trains than pedestrians. Mojica, a resident of the Prospect Heights neighborhood, had been shot multiple times in the head in what investigators believe was a targeted killing.

Those who knew Mojica said he was not considered a bad person despite minor run-ins with the law; his nephew Hector described him as likable and having a lot of heart, while also acknowledging past drug involvement. Detectives said Mojica had attended a party in the days before he was found and remain interested in speaking with anyone who was there. No arrests have been made and no specific suspects have been named publicly; the Pawtucket Police Department continues to seek information as the case remains cold.

Did anyone attend that party or have information about Mojica’s last days that could help investigators?
