On August 7, 2015, 73-year-old Julie Ann Falzarano was killed by rifle fire in her home in Berlin, Vermont. Her two daughters, Regina and Rhonda Herring, were also shot and died at the scene. That same day in nearby Barre, social worker Lara Sobel was shot and killed as she left her workplace.

Authorities identified Jody Herring, a relative of Falzarano and her daughters, as the suspect in all four killings. Investigators say Jody Herring had lost custody of her 9-year-old daughter the day before the shootings. After the slaying of the social worker, bystanders reportedly tackled the shooter and took her into custody; witnesses described her as calm and laughing after that killing.

Four lives were lost across two communities in a single, connected incident. If anyone knew Julie Falzarano or her daughters, or has information about what happened in Berlin or Barre on August 7, 2015, please share what you know.
