The fatal shooting of 38-year-old Jonathan Dallas took place on October 18, 2020, inside a Railroad Street residence in Nampa, Idaho. Police say officers arrived about 6:24 p.m. and found Dallas deceased. His 33-year-old brother, Jeremiah Nupen, who shared the home, remained at the scene and was taken into custody.
According to Nupen’s account to police, an argument escalated when Dallas kicked in Nupen’s bedroom door and came toward him; Nupen said he fired three times, the last shot striking Dallas in the chest. Neighbors and other people in the house confirmed a physical altercation between the brothers the day before, including an alleged choking by Dallas, and they confirmed Dallas had kicked in the bedroom door. Witnesses did not, however, report hearing Dallas threaten to beat Nupen.
Nupen was arrested and booked on a charge of second-degree murder. The shooting was described by authorities as an isolated incident. Did anyone living in Nampa know either brother or see activity at that Railroad Street home around October 17–18, 2020?
