A late afternoon shooting at a home on North Fry Street on the Boise Bench left 45-year-old Antoine Jones dead from multiple gunshot wounds on August 2, 2019. A woman at the residence was injured, treated at a local hospital, and released. Police identified 24-year-old Carlos Alonzo Sandoval as the suspect; he fled the scene and hid in a nearby house, prompting a multi-officer response with drones and a perimeter that kept residents indoors.
Sandoval surrendered to authorities that evening after contacting them by phone and following instructions for a peaceful exit. Prosecutors say Jones was in a relationship with Sandoval’s mother and was identified by Sandoval’s sister as their stepfather; they allege Sandoval admitted planning the attack and showed no remorse. He was charged with first-degree murder, felony aggravated battery, and felony use of a deadly weapon, held without bond, and a no-contact order was issued for the surviving victim.
What details might help explain the motive linked to family tensions in this case?
