Roberto Angel Gomez, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, was found with multiple gunshot wounds near 11th Avenue North and Powell Avenue in Nampa, Idaho, in the late hours of September 25, 2018. Emergency personnel took him to a local hospital, where he died shortly after arrival. The Ada County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide caused by the gunshot wounds.

Initial police reports named no suspects and listed the motive as unknown, though friends said Gomez had been involved in a dispute in the days before the shooting. A family confrontation hours before the killing is described in court documents; that encounter reportedly involved Maribel Menchaca allegedly taking a gold chain from Gomez.

In December 2018, Nampa police arrested eight people in connection with the killing: four adults and four teenagers. Two people were charged with first-degree murder — Maribel Menchaca, 42, and her 16-year-old son Juan Menchaca Olvera — who were also charged with robbery. Several others faced charges including accessory to first-degree murder, aiding and abetting robbery, perjury, intimidation of a witness, and withholding information.

Does anyone have information about Roberto, the confrontation before the shooting, or events near 11th Avenue North and Powell Avenue that night?
