Christopher Rhea Reese was 25 and working the overnight shift at the Jacksons convenience store in Notus, Idaho, in the early hours of December 17, 2014, when two masked men entered the store in what investigators described as a tactical manner. One intruder, armed with a rifle, shot and killed Reese; the other, with a handgun holstered at his waist, used a handcart to remove the store’s safe. The suspects fled in Reese’s 2007 Lincoln MKZ, which was later found abandoned not far from the scene alongside the unopened safe.
Reese had moved from Tennessee a few years earlier, was engaged to be married and was a father to a young daughter. The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the FBI, processed more than a thousand tips and reviewed surveillance footage that shows one suspect in a camouflage jacket and tan pants and the other in a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, but no arrests have been announced. Jacksons Food Stores has increased a reward to $100,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction.
Anyone who knew Christopher, saw the Lincoln MKZ that morning, or has information about the two men is asked to come forward.
