On September 13, 2023, 43-year-old Stephanie Ann Ranieri was found dead outside a residence on Clemons Cove in Hiram, Maine. Maine State Police responded to a disturbance call and discovered two bodies. The state medical examiner ruled Ranieri’s death a homicide.

The other person at the scene was 48-year-old Chad Adams, who was determined to have died by suicide. Authorities say Ranieri and Adams had been in a relationship and that Adams was the sole perpetrator in her death; no other suspects were being sought.

Ranieri worked as a manager at a local Shop ’n’ Save and was described as kind and free-spirited, with a love of gardening, hiking, and the outdoors.
