Linda Marie Ouellette Spaulding, 44, was shot and killed in her Hartland, Maine home on September 10, 2006. A Winslow High School class of 1980 graduate, she had been a homemaker who later ran a cleaning business, enjoyed arts and crafts, and tended flower gardens she shared with her grandson.

The Maine State Police determined the shooting was a murder-suicide: Linda’s 45-year-old ex-husband, Timothy Spaulding, was identified as the shooter and then died by self-inflicted gunshot at the scene. The investigation concluded Timothy was the sole person responsible; no arrests were made after the incident. Linda and Timothy had married on August 4, 1984, and had one son.
