Allison R. Small, a 30-year-old Vinalhaven woman, was fatally shot on January 28, 2005, in the parking lot of Bunker’s, the food distribution company she and her husband Brandon Small operated in Rockland, Maine. The shooting followed a planned meeting at the business involving Allison, Brandon, and a truck driver for the company, Douglas Dyer, to discuss a personal matter. Authorities say an affair between Allison and 31-year-old Dyer prompted the meeting. Brandon had dropped Allison off and returned about 12:45 p.m. to find her running from the building after being shot; she died in the parking lot. A second shot was fired at Brandon but did not hit him. Dyer fled in his pickup, reportedly armed with a hunting rifle, but surrendered to the Waldoboro Police Department about four hours later.
Are there readers who knew Allison or who have information about that day that could help clarify what happened?
