Aaizeem Korden-Brown was 17 when he was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday, August 20, 2023, at an unsanctioned car meet at the Delaware Logistics Center on Bear Corbitt Road in New Castle County. Troopers were called shortly after 2:00 a.m. after gunfire erupted as a late-night gathering began to break up following a fight or argument among several people in the crowd. Aaizeem was struck multiple times and died at a local hospital; a 21-year-old friend was wounded in the foot and survived.

Police say the shooter or shooters opened fire into the dispersing crowd and fled, leaving a scene that rapidly emptied despite the large number of attendees. Aaizeem’s parents, Rita Korden and Shawn Brown, publicly appealed for witnesses, and investigators have been asking anyone who attended the car meet to come forward with video or information.
