Nicholas Davis was 31 and from Laurel, Delaware when he was fatally shot in Seaford on the night of February 20, 2022. Police were called shortly before 9:00 p.m. to the parking lot at 1252 Norman Eskridge Highway, where they found Davis with gunshot wounds; he was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Investigators traced the confrontation to a McDonald’s drive-thru at 300 South Dual Highway, where Davis encountered a group. The parties left the drive-thru and continued into an adjacent parking lot off Stein Highway, where the situation escalated and Davis was shot. Afterward the group fled the scene, leaving him wounded.
Within days a 17-year-old male from Seaford was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited juvenile; the teen was arraigned and committed to juvenile detention on $210,000 cash bond. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit had taken over the investigation and continued to seek witnesses or anyone with information.
Does anyone have information about the drive-thru encounter or the parking lot sequence of events that night?
