A hunting outing in southern Hamilton County, Nebraska, ended in tragedy on May 1, 2022, when 17-year-old Caleb Micheal Ladeoff of Sutton suffered a catastrophic gunshot wound. He was taken to Bryan Medical Center West Campus in Lincoln and died two days later, on May 3, 2022. Authorities described the event as a hunting accident and opened an investigation involving the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
No arrests or suspects have been publicly named. Caleb is remembered by his family for enjoying the outdoors, especially fishing, 4-wheeling, and working with cattle on his grandparents’ farms.
Does anyone who was in the area that day or who knew Caleb have information that could help clarify what happened?
