A family dispute in Surprise, Arizona, ended in deadly violence on October 18, 2023. Nicholas Leone, 58, was shot and killed inside his home near 174th Avenue and Woodrow Lane after an exchange of gunfire. Responding officers found Nicholas deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.

Nicholas’s twin brother, Michael Leone, was at the scene with his hands raised and was taken into custody. Michael was unharmed and was booked into the Maricopa County Intake, Transfer and Release Jail on second-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, and failure to comply with a court order. Authorities say the fatal confrontation grew out of a dispute between the brothers.
