On the evening of July 13, 2021, Landan James Klein, 25, and his partner Honeylynne Garcia, 25, were shot and killed in a Sierra Vista, Arizona restaurant parking lot. Klein died shortly after being taken to Canyon Vista Medical Center; Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the killings stemmed from a dispute over money owed for drugs.

Surveillance footage described by investigators shows Klein driving into the lot, exiting his vehicle and approaching the driver’s side of another car. The video reportedly captures Devon Nathaniel Neff, 21, pointing a gun from his window and shooting Klein, then exiting his vehicle and shooting Garcia in the passenger seat before fleeing. Neff surrendered to police and was charged with one count of premeditated first-degree murder and one count of intentional second-degree murder; he was held on no-bond.

The day after the killings, Garcia’s brothers, DJ Leeroyce Garcia, 27, and Roger Carlos Garcia, 21, were arrested after being seen removing items from the victims’ home; police later found drugs, cash and firearms in their vehicle and the brothers entered plea deals for removing evidence. Anyone who knew Landan or has information about the shootings is asked to come forward.
