On the late morning of August 20, 2020, deputies entered a residence in Tonopah, Arizona, and found the bodies of 39-year-old Jasmine Mary Licea and 41-year-old Michael Berumen, both of whom had fatal gunshot wounds. The couple’s five children were in the home at the time. Investigators have reported no suspects are being sought but have not publicly classified the incident as a murder‑suicide. Prior court filings and police contact show a history of domestic conflict: in April 2020 Licea accused Berumen of domestic violence, and she later alleged he had threatened her with a firearm and was behaving erratically because of drug use. Berumen had filed for sole custody after Licea returned to New Jersey and a court order required her return to Arizona; the domestic case was dismissed after the couple appeared to reconcile. Friends later organized a GoFundMe to assist the children.
Does anyone have information about Jasmine, Michael, or the family’s movements in Tonopah around August 2020 that could help clarify what happened?
