On the evening of May 10, 2020, 50-year-old Jeffrey Joseph Dufour was found dead in the driveway of a Cove Parkway residence in Topock, Arizona, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Mohave County deputies responded after Jennifer Dawn Priole called and said she had shot a male; deputies took the 48-year-old Priole into custody for questioning.
Priole told investigators the shooting was in self-defense after a physical altercation, but deputies found no injuries on her to support that claim. Video surveillance from the residence, played at the sentencing hearing, showed Priole shooting Dufour, then firing again after he staggered, waiting seventeen minutes before a third shot, and waiting forty more minutes before calling 911.
Priole was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and later pleaded guilty while continuing to assert battered woman syndrome. At sentencing the judge imposed the statutory maximum of 16 years in prison, citing the deadly weapon and the effect on Dufour’s family. If anyone knew Jeffrey or has information about what led to that night, please share details with the forum.
