Bohan Lee, 92, was last seen on April 26, 2014, in a wooded area near Old Pacific Highway SE and Reservation Road SE in Olympia while harvesting fern heads with family. At some point during the outing he became separated from relatives; the family searched before notifying the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and multiple regional search and rescue teams conducted an extensive search that turned up no sign of him.
Family described him as healthy for his age but not dressed or prepared for an extended or overnight stay in the woods. He did not speak English and was not carrying identification or a phone, which complicated efforts to find or identify him. Over time the possibility he wandered and became lost shifted toward other explanations, including that he may have left the area by an unknown means; the case is open but inactive.
Does anyone who was in the area that day or who knew Mr. Lee have information that could help clarify what happened?
