Richard Ricardo West, 28, of District Heights, Maryland, sent a single text at 11:55 PM on June 20, 2011, to a family member saying he had been kidnapped. That message is the last known communication from him. His family reported him missing to the Prince George’s County Police Department on June 22, 2011; his last known location was the 6500 block of Hilmar Drive in District Heights.

At the time he disappeared Richard was described as a Black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 157 pounds, with black short bush hair, a full beard and brown eyes. The Criminal Investigation Division of the Prince George’s County Police Department opened the case under docket number 11-173-1419.

That single allegation of kidnapping is the clearest and most troubling detail in an otherwise sparse file. If anyone knew Richard, saw him around Hilmar Drive on June 20–22, 2011, or has information that could help, please come forward.
