Nina Akbarian was three years old when she disappeared from North York, Ontario, around early July 1996. Born August 29, 1992, she had brown hair and brown eyes, shoulder-length hair at the time, and a small light brown birthmark on the left side of her upper lip. The last confirmed sightings placed her with her father, Naser Akbarian.
Authorities describe the disappearance as a parental abduction. A kidnapping warrant was issued for Naser Akbarian, then 42 and an Iranian national. He is described as having dark brown hair, brown eyes, crooked teeth, a bald circle on the back of his head and a brown mole on the upper left side of his back. Investigators have long considered Iran and the United States as possible destinations, complicating jurisdictional efforts.
The case grew cold over the years; age‑progressed images have been circulated to seek new leads. If anyone knew Nina or her family, or has information about Naser’s movements in 1996 or afterward, please share what you know.
