Garry Stuart Allen disappeared after a fishing trip on Turtle Lake near Glaslyn, Saskatchewan. He was born August 25, 1943, and was 35 when he and a friend went out on October 17, 1978. Sudden rough weather followed and the two men were reported missing on October 20, three days after last being seen.
Searchers found a swamped canoe and the body of Garry’s fishing companion, but despite extensive searches of the lake and shoreline there was no sign of Garry. He was described as a Caucasian male about 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 150 pounds, with hazel eyes; hair color is listed as unknown. The F Division RCMP Historical Case Unit keeps his file open.
Does anyone have information about Garry’s time on Turtle Lake that day or remember details that might help this long‑running search?
