Delmer Paul Bonnetrouge, a 35-year-old man from the Deh Gah Got’ie First Nation, was last seen on April 21, 2015, in Fort Providence on the Mackenzie River. He was reported missing by his family on April 27 after not being heard from; his father, the community’s chief, said it was out of character for Delmer to be out of contact that long. He is described as an Aboriginal man, five feet eight inches tall, about 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Community members mounted ground searches with about 20 people on all-terrain vehicles checking trails and remote cabins, and helicopters conducted aerial searches; no trace was found. Authorities believed he may have traveled to Hay River, and public appeals were made for information. At the time of his disappearance Delmer faced legal trouble, including sexual assault charges and two missed court appearances; a warrant had been issued days before he was last seen. The RCMP said they found no evidence linking his disappearance to the outstanding charges and treated it as a missing persons case.

Anyone who knew Delmer, his movements around Fort Providence, Hay River or Yellowknife in April 2015, or who has information that could help locate him is asked to come forward.
