Janine Ellen Bott, a 37-year-old Indigenous woman, was last seen on March 30, 2024, walking in a remote area of Lamont County, Alberta, near Township Road 534 and Range Road 185 between Fort Saskatchewan and Mundare. It is believed she may have been heading east toward Mundare, about 20 kilometres from the last sighting. Janine was known to hitchhike at times, and investigators say someone may have seen her walking or given her a ride that day.
She is described as slender, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 110 pounds, with straight brown hair and brown or hazel eyes. Distinctive tattoos include a healing symbol on her right wrist, a flower on her left wrist, and angel wings on her upper back bearing the names Ashton & Taylor. The Fort Saskatchewan RCMP opened an active investigation; search efforts by police, volunteer teams and search and rescue from Edmonton and Parkland County found no sign of her. Police searched nearby homes with landowner permission.
There has been little public detail about who Janine last contacted or whether she had her phone. With more than two years since her confirmed sighting, her family and community remain without answers. Does anyone who was in the Township Road 534 and Range Road 185 area on March 30, 2024, or who may have given a ride that day, have information to share?
