Diane Marie Bourne, 22, vanished from her Ashton, Ontario home on March 6, 1976. She lived on a farm with a wrecking yard on Kidd Road with her husband, Gordon Bourne, and their two young children. Diane commuted to a government job in Ottawa and was described as close to her children and her father; one of her children was in hospital when she disappeared.

She was last seen at the residence wearing a 3/4 length green and white winter coat. Gordon later told police he had followed her footprints down the snowy laneway and believed she had been picked up by a vehicle. Decades passed without sign of Diane and leads were scarce. A major search of the Kidd Road property by Ontario Provincial Police in 2007, involving major crime and canine units, produced no evidence about her whereabouts; Gordon Bourne was arrested on weapons-related charges during that operation and released on bail.

Foul play is suspected and the case remains open and active. Can anyone who knew Diane or the family, or who has information about Kidd Road in 1976, come forward?
