Lance Dennis Charles Briere, a 32-year-old Indigenous man from Inuvik, went missing after leaving the Gwich'in Wellness Camp in winter 2025. On February 7 he departed the camp on a black Ski-Doo Expedition LE snowmobile headed for Inuvik. The last confirmed sighting was at a local liquor store in Inuvik on February 8, 2025, where he wore a bright green highlighter-coloured toque, a reflective jacket, black ski pants and black winter boots.
Lance was reported missing on February 17, 2025. Extensive searches by Inuvik Ground Search and Rescue, the Canadian Civil Air Search and Rescue Association and visiting military personnel searched the East Branch area from the Aklavik junction to Big Rock, and the RCMP have followed leads and circulated photos of a similar snowmobile. Neither Lance nor the black Ski-Doo has been located. He is described as about five feet nine to ten inches tall, roughly 160 pounds, slender, with brown hair and eyes and a left forearm tattoo reading One Love.
Did anyone in the Inuvik or Yukon area see Lance or a black Ski-Doo after February 8, 2025?
