Harrison Edward Brown, 26, vanished from Mary’s Harbour, Newfoundland & Labrador after leaving a friend’s house on a snowmobile in the early morning of February 24, 1991. He was last seen traveling near an area of open water, a hazardous detail in that icy coastal terrain.
At the time he disappeared he was described as a Caucasian male, 5 feet 9 inches, about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Notable features included some missing teeth and scars behind the left knee and above the left elbow, plus a minor undisplaced fracture on his right foot. He was wearing a black leather jacket, black nylon windbreaker pants, a brown scarf, white running shoes and a black plastic snowmobile helmet with red and gold stripes.
The Mary’s Harbour detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police opened an investigation that remains unresolved; over the years no confirmed sightings or fresh leads have been reported.
