I’ve been looking into the disappearance of Robert Royal Chaple, and something puzzling caught my attention. In a tight-knit place like Erickson, how is it possible that nobody noticed anything amiss until 13 days later? I mean, in a small community, you expect people to be more aware of someone not being around—even if just a neighbor dropping by for a chat. Was Robert living alone, or did he have any routines that might have led someone to realize earlier that something was off? It’s odd that such a long stretch of time lapsed before he was reported missing. Anyone from Erickson or familiar with the area back then have any insights on how things were, socially or otherwise? It seems folks might have known something was wrong, but maybe didn't realize the gravity until it was too late.
