Hey everyone,
I've been following Douglas Poo-Chiu Chong's case and can't help but wonder about the challenges faced by those searching for people who went missing before the social media boom. Knowing that he disappeared around the late summer of 2009, it strikes me how different things might be if he'd gone missing after everyone started sharing things on Instagram, Facebook, etc. It's tough because back then, digital footprints weren't as robust, and cases like Douglas's might not have gotten the traction they needed in those early days.
How do we, as a community, push to bring more attention to older cases like his? Should we organize a renewed push on social media to bring more eyes to his story, or is there another strategy that might be more effective for bringing attention to these older, cold cases? Would love to hear thoughts from anyone who has experience with similar situations.
