I recently stumbled upon the case of Magdalena Ciesek, and I can't stop thinking about the delay in officially reporting her missing. I mean, I understand the family's decision to hire a private investigator right off the bat, but it really makes me wonder how common this is and whether it can potentially hinder the investigation. From what I gather, that earlier involvement of a PI didn't uncover any new leads. Three whole years passed before her disappearance was logged with the Toronto Police. Does anyone have insights on how such delays could impact the investigation or the likelihood of finding someone? It just seems like so much crucial time was lost. Plus, her having that meeting with her estranged husband the same day she vanished reeks of coincidence. Can anyone explain why law enforcement might not take earlier reports like these more seriously, especially involving someone so young and vulnerable? Would appreciate hearing thoughts from folks who’ve followed similar cases.
