On the evening of June 17, 2014, 19-year-old Davis Jurado of Goodyear, Arizona, went to a local park with his 45-year-old stepfather, David Archer, for what was described as a planned marijuana sale arranged via text messages. Both men were shot during the encounter; they drove themselves to West Valley Hospital in a car that showed multiple bullet holes. Jurado’s wounds were fatal and he was pronounced dead; Archer survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Goodyear Police described the suspects as two men in their late teens or early twenties. Investigators later identified and arrested two people: 24-year-old Andrew Tyraye Moering, apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service, and 21-year-old Mitchell Avery Binion, arrested by a Goodyear SWAT team on July 15, 2014, on suspicion of first-degree murder; Binion’s bond was set at $1 million after his initial court appearance.
Are there readers who knew Davis or who have information about the June 17 meeting at the park that could help the investigation?
