I've been thinking a lot about the location where Dale's canoe was discovered. Ten kilometers north of Fort McMurray on the Athabasca River seems like a significant distance for the canoe to travel without him. Could the strong current have carried it that far, or does it suggest something else happened before it turned over? I wonder if there's a possibility he attempted to follow the riverbank for help and somehow lost his way. The wilderness out there is pretty unforgiving, and October nights in northern Alberta can be perilously cold. It's been haunting to imagine all the possible scenarios, especially without any clear evidence to guide us. Also, was there ever any detailed investigation into weather conditions on the day he disappeared? If it was particularly windy or stormy, that might have been a factor in the canoe overturning. Does anyone have insight into typical river conditions in late October around that area? It just feels like these environmental elements might hold a piece of this unresolved puzzle.
