I've been following the case of Melissa Jeannette Ekkelenkamp and something about her disappearance just haunts me. Is anyone else curious about how she managed to leave the psychiatric facility just like that? I mean, Alberta Hospital should've had some kind of monitoring in place, right? I remember reading that Melissa wasn't the only patient who walked away. It makes you wonder if the hospital had enough security or if protocols were really lax. It's just mind-boggling that her family is left in the dark because of what seems like a possible oversight. I hope the provincial review led to some improvements so this doesn’t happen again. Would love to hear thoughts or any updates if anyone has them.
