I've been looking into the weather patterns around Reed Lake on the day Robert Ellis disappeared. It's interesting to note that the area is known for sudden squalls that can catch even experienced anglers off guard. I found some meteorological reports from June 27, 1973, detailing rapid changes in wind speed and temperature, which could have easily contributed to the rough conditions described. If these conditions changed quickly, it might explain why the situation got so dangerous without much warning. Anyone else have thoughts or info on how these sudden weather changes could have impacted their ability to control the canoe?
