I came across Roberta Marie Ferguson’s case again while looking into cold cases from the 80s and something keeps gnawing at me. Why wasn’t there a greater public appeal when she first disappeared? I understand that the initial delay seems to be due to her being an adult, but with her being a young Indigenous woman, there's a definite void in urgency. Given the reported sighting near Vedder Mountain and Cultus Lake roads, I wonder if there were any thorough canvases for witnesses back then. It's puzzling, to say the least, that even with a description of the man and the car, the trail went cold so quickly. Anyone else think more should’ve been done around this lead initially? It feels like such a crucial point in understanding what happened to Roberta. Any insights or theories would be appreciated.
