I've been following the Gerbrand case closely and realize there hasn't been much focus on the condition of Codette Lake itself during that time. Does anyone know if there were any reports about water levels or currents that day? It's not unusual for lakes to have hidden dangers, especially if there were any rapid changes in weather or water conditions. Even experienced canoeists can encounter unforeseen challenges if currents or wind patterns shift suddenly. I'm no expert, but it seems strange that despite such a massive search effort, absolutely nothing was found. It's almost as if the lake swallowed any evidence whole. Maybe there's more to Codette Lake beneath its surface than meets the eye. Would love to hear thoughts or any insights people might have about the lake's history or characteristics around the late '80s.
