Noreen Anne Greenley was 13 when she vanished from Bowmanville, Ontario, after leaving a friend’s house to catch the 11:35 p.m. bus on September 14, 1963. That night a neighbour reported seeing a dark English-style car—possibly a 1957–1959 Ford Prefect—at the bus stop, and Noreen’s sister later said she and a friend were nearly struck by a similar car and heard a scream she believed was Noreen’s. Her father and older brother chased the vehicle but could not find it; an extensive search turned up nothing and the case went cold.

Decades later, new material documented by police suggests an alternate timeline first raised by Noreen’s father in 1968. Notebooks from a former constable indicate she may have run away because she was pregnant, been helped by a couple in Oshawa and Whitby, crossed Lake Ontario to Rochester, New York, and possibly reached Syracuse, where she may have had a baby boy. The investigation remains open and unresolved.

Did anyone in Bowmanville, Oshawa or Whitby in 1963 have contact with a young woman matching Noreen’s description or know of a baby boy born under unusual circumstances around that time?
