Paul J. Hahn, 54, of Amherst, New York, was reported missing in the spring of 2022 after a kayaking trip on Lake Ontario. He was last seen sometime between Friday, April 22, and Monday, April 25, after launching from Golden Hill State Park in Barker. Authorities and the New York State Park Police searched and asked the public to watch for an orange and black Old Town Sportsman 120 kayak, plus his paddle and personal flotation device.

Details about his planned route or expected return time were not publicly known, which added uncertainty as the search continued and family and community members worried. The search ultimately ended with a positive outcome: officials reported that Mr. Hahn was found safe at his home.
