I've been following the case of Louis Joseph Haineault and something that's always intrigued me is the condition in which his boat was found. As someone who's spent years boating and fishing, I know just how rare it is for a well-maintained boat to become completely inoperable without a clear cause. Was there ever any investigation into whether Louis kept a log of his boat's condition or any recent repairs? It might just be a wild theory, but what if Louis himself had some concern about the boat before heading out that day? Did anyone close to him mention if he'd expressed any worry over its reliability? The fact that his nets were still in there makes me think he didn't anticipate any issues. I wonder if it's possible there could've been some tampering, though I haven't found anything in past discussions suggesting it was explored.
