I've been thinking about the impact Amarjit Jeerh's disappearance has had on the Calgary community over the years. It's like she's become something of a local mystery that's never been solved, and I think about how that must feel for those living there. Even people who didn't know her personally are left wrestling with questions. It seems like it has created a kind of collective longing for answers.
Every few years, I notice someone brings her name up again in local conversations, especially among older residents who remember when it happened. But with each passing year, fresh eyes seem more and more rare. It's sad to think that Amarjit’s story might be slipping from people's memories, all while there's still so little closure for those who were close to her.
Have any of you noticed similar situations in your communities where a longstanding case seems to fade away over time? I just wish there was more that could be done to keep these stories alive, to keep searching and hoping for any breakthrough, no matter how small.
