I've been following the case of Randolph Johanson and Laurence Peterson and something has always bugged me. Has anyone else looked into the weather conditions around the time they went missing? I read somewhere that late February of 1982 had some pretty rough waters along the coast of British Columbia. Could a storm have been strong enough to throw both boats off course without leaving any wreckage behind? It seems odd that nothing was ever found. I'm wondering if they maybe tried to take shelter somewhere and ended up lost. Any insights or resources on historical weather data for that time would be helpful.
