Theresa Beverly Johnny was 31 when she vanished in the summer of 1998 after a last confirmed sighting in Anchorage, Alaska, in July of that year. A member of the Dease Lake First Nation, she lived in Whitehorse, Yukon, and held a diploma in First Nations management from Yukon College. Reports say she also used the surname Essman.

Theresa had disappeared from Whitehorse in March 1998 and later made her way to Anchorage, where she had last contact with the Anchorage Police Department in July. She was described as Native American, with long black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 147 pounds. Investigators considered the possibility she might be living on the streets, and the case involved both the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Anchorage Police Department. A number of unconfirmed tips have not produced a resolution.

Theresa left behind two sons and a nephew; the trail across borders remains scarce. If anyone knew Theresa, her movements in 1998, or has information about her whereabouts, please come forward.
