I was just thinking about the circumstances surrounding William Kacuiba's disappearance and wanted to bring up something that’s been bothering me since reading about it. Was the ice on the North Saskatchewan River known to be unstable around that time? I know it's common to snowmobile in the area, but it seems strange that it gave out on such a familiar outing for William. Could there have been any recent weather changes that might have weakened the ice unexpectedly? Maybe there are reports from that period about ice safety? Just thinking out loud here, but if anyone has any historical weather data or local insights from the early '90s, it might shed some light on any unusual conditions back then.
