Mary Rose Keadjuk, a 24-year-old Inuk woman from Kugluktuk, Nunavut, disappeared from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, in the summer of 1990 while living at the Gold Range Hotel. She was a mother to a four-year-old boy and pregnant at the time. Her disappearance was not reported to Yellowknife RCMP until September 1990. Investigators found all her personal belongings, including the glasses she relied on, still in her hotel room.

In 2003 a partial human bone fragment was found in the Con Mine area of Yellowknife. Early DNA testing was inconclusive, but the fragment was retested as forensic technology improved. In 2018 a laboratory in Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the remains were Mary Rose’s, ending 28 years of uncertainty for her family. The investigation into what happened in 1990 remains active and police continue to seek information.

If anyone knew Mary Rose, lived near the Gold Range Hotel, or has information about her movements in Yellowknife that summer, please come forward with what you remember.
