Does anyone familiar with the region know if there are any particular spots around the lake that are notoriously hard to access or might have been overlooked during the search? Sometimes these places swallow clues whole due to their inaccessibility. It's also surprising they found his canoe but not him - could there be strong currents or deep sections in the lake that might have played a role?
