Just stumbled upon Leon John Kitchekesik's story on Gull Lake, and something that hasn't been discussed much caught my attention: the decision by Manitoba Hydro to remove the memorial cross. I get that companies have their reasons, but could there have been a way to work with Leon's family to preserve this important tribute? It makes me wonder about how we balance progress and preserving important cultural and personal landmarks. In situations like these, shouldn't there be more sensitivity towards grieving families? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how situations like this can be handled better.
