Anyone else find it strange about the timing of those gunshots? A friend reported hearing them right before Joan disappeared. It's something I've been thinking about a lot lately. With the backhoe being seen around the same time, it seems like too much of a coincidence. Why wasn't the sound of gunfire investigated more thoroughly back then? I know there might not have been much evidence to go on, but there should have been more urgency. The police believe all four were homicide victims, but how might things have turned out if more immediate action was taken following that report? It's mind-boggling—and frustrating—to me that considering those circumstances, answers continue to elude us after all these years. Would love to hear other thoughts on this particular aspect of the case.
