Niagara Falls is generally considered a place of wonder and beauty, but so many are unaware of the darker stories it holds. Daniel Patrick Leslie's disappearance is one such story that's puzzled me for a long time. Why, even though the investigators conducted numerous searches in and around the area, was there no sign of him ever found near Terrapin Point? The timing and place of his disappearance seem almost too public for such a closing act. I remember there was a lot of speculation about what could have led him to that point emotionally; these subtle hints of being in distress make it even more complicated. It feels like one of those cases where the location played a crucial role—Niagara's roaring waters mixed with isolation in a crowd. Have there been any similar cases at this location that anyone knows of? How often does it seem that people disappear in well-visited spots, only to remain missing like this? It's troubling to think how quickly someone can vanish even in the most observant of places.
