I’ve been digging into the Anker Ljunggren case and stumbled upon something curious. It seems that a number of Norwegian immigrants who settled in Saskatchewan during the 1930s, like Anker, had connections to each other through small expatriate communities and social clubs. These networks often helped newcomers find jobs and get accustomed to life on the Canadian prairies.
So, here's my question: Is it possible that Anker might have reached out to one of these communities between Craven or Craik for help or advice in searching for work? Given his background and the prevalent immigrant networks at the time, could someone from that circle have more information or might Anker have trusted someone there who led him astray?
I’ve never seen this angle explored in the discussions I've read. Perhaps someone with knowledge of the social dynamics or historical community records from that era might shed some light on Anker's connections and the possibilities they present. Any thoughts or resources for digging into these networks?
